Macquarie 2021 MLP Results

Welcome to the online collection of Macquarie MLP results. The Macquarie MLP Site is hosted by NSW DPI at the Trangie Agriculture Research Centre in western NSW and is a partnership between NSW DPI, Macquarie Sire Evaluation Association, Australian Wool Innovation (AWI) and the Australian Merino Sire Evaluation Association (AMSEA).

Browse through the results documents and presentations at your convenience. Provided are wool / carcase and reproduction results presented for the sire groups, plus background information about the MLP project.

A Results Webinar was held with SheepConnectNSW in May 2021 where Trangie was presented as it’s never been seen before; with a distinctly green hue after a bumper season! Results were presented with a special focus on Reproduction as both the 2017 and 2018 drops have a full cycle of results and recent preliminary scanning data.

*Note: the presented reports are designed to be used in their entirety to fully understand their context. If you have any queries please email the MLP Team using the form below.

Macquarie MLP Sire Groups

There are 950+ MLP ewes from the 2017 and 2018 drops at the Macquarie site. These ewes are the result of AI programs using 15 and then 16 sire joinings in the 2017 and 2018 year drops.

The MLP ewes are being assessed across their lifetime for wool, carcase and reproduction. Both measured and classed results are collected and reported in sire groups. The 2017 drop ewes have had their fourth wool assessment and have finished their second reproduction cycle. The 2018 drop ewes have had their third wool assessment and have finished their first reproduction cycle.
